Privacy Policy
Effective October 27, 2026
The short version: your projects, files, audio and API keys belong to you and are private to your account. We don't sell your data, show ads, or use tracking cookies. We keep only what the app needs to work, and you can delete everything at any time.
Who we are
Block Yard Studio ("we", "us") is a 3D previsualization app at blockyardstudio.com, operated by Brian Taylor in Colorado, USA. Questions about this policy or your data: hello@blockyardstudio.com.
What we collect
Your account
- Your email address.
- Your password, which is stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider. We never see it.
What you make in the app
- Projects: sets you build, shots, camera moves, stand-ins, scripts, character casts and animation libraries.
- Files you add: set models, project snapshots and version history, and audio (uploaded recordings and generated speech).
Your ElevenLabs API key (only if you add one)
If you connect ElevenLabs, your key is saved in your private account record so it follows you between devices. Your browser uses it to talk to ElevenLabs directly on your behalf. We do not use your key for anything else, and you can remove it at any time from the Audio page.
Technical information
- A sign-in session kept in your browser's storage so you stay signed in.
- Preferences kept in your browser, such as panel layout and recently used tools.
- Standard request logs kept by our hosting and database providers (for example IP address, browser type and time of request), used for security and keeping the service running.
We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To run the app: save and load your projects, files and settings.
- To keep your account secure and your data private to you.
- To contact you about your account or important changes to the service.
We don't sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or use your projects or files to train AI models.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of providers to run the service. They handle data only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase stores accounts, project data and files (servers in the United States).
- Vercel hosts the website.
- ElevenLabs receives text or audio only when you use the audio features with your own key. Those requests go from your browser to ElevenLabs under your ElevenLabs account and their privacy policy.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the service.
How your data is protected
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and is encrypted at rest by our database provider. Database rules make each person's projects and files readable only by that signed-in person. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell affected users about any breach as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete a project, file or version, it is removed. When you delete your account, your account, projects and files are removed. Copies in our provider's routine backups are overwritten within about 7 days.
Your choices and rights
- Get a copy: File › Save to computer downloads a complete project file.
- Correct or delete: edit or delete anything in the app. To delete your whole account, open Account (bottom left) › Delete account.
- Ask us: email hello@blockyardstudio.com to access, correct or delete your data, or with any other privacy request. Depending on where you live (for example Colorado, California or the European Union), you may have additional rights, and we will honor them.
Children
Block Yard Studio is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top, and for significant changes we will let account holders know before they take effect.
